(a) Guidant Stents: Guidant Corporation, through it's subsidiary Endovascular Technologies, Inc, marketed and sold stents used to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms from September 30, 1999 through March 2001. These stents were called the Ancure Endograft System.
The US Department of Justice investigated the Ancure stents, and has now fined the company over $90 million for false statements made about the device and the dangers presented to patients.
